1. Supplier information

As required by section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002:

2. Terms & conditions

2.1 Acceptance

By downloading, registering for or using House Party, or by buying Premium, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, you may only buy Premium with the consent of a parent or guardian.

2.2 The service

House Party lets you create private "houses", track scores for games, view leaderboards and history, and unlock cosmetic house kits and badges. The free plan includes 2 houses and unlimited games. Premium adds unlimited houses, premium themes and exclusive customisation options.

2.3 Your account

You are responsible for your login details and for activity on your account. You must give accurate information and must not impersonate anyone.

2.4 Acceptable use

You may not use House Party to post unlawful, abusive, hateful or sexually explicit content, harass other users, attempt to access other accounts, or interfere with the app's operation. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

2.5 Premium purchases

Premium is a once-off digital purchase priced at US$5, charged in South African Rand at the exchange rate on the day of purchase. The exact rand amount is shown on the secure checkout page before you confirm payment, and that is the amount you pay — exchange-rate changes after purchase never affect it. House Kits are priced individually in the in-app shop, also shown in rand before payment. Prices may change, but changes never affect a purchase already completed.

2.6 Availability and changes

We aim to keep House Party available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update or change features; if we materially reduce a paid Premium feature, you may ask for a pro-rata refund.

2.7 Liability

To the extent permitted by law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, House Party Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under South African consumer law.

2.8 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

3. Refund, cancellation & cooling-off policy

4. Delivery of digital services

House Party sells digital services only — nothing is shipped. Premium is delivered electronically to your House Party account immediately after successful payment, and you are returned to the app automatically. If Premium has not activated within 24 hours, contact us and we will activate it or refund you. Service is available wherever the app is available on Google Play; payments are accepted in ZAR only.

5. Payments & security

Card payments are processed by Yoco Technologies (Pty) Ltd on a secure, PCI DSS-compliant checkout page with 3D Secure. We accept Visa and Mastercard. House Party Studios never sees or stores your full card number, expiry date or CVV. Our website and app communicate over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. You will receive a payment confirmation by email.

6. Privacy policy (POPIA)

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

6.1 Responsible party and Information Officer

House Party Studios, contact details in section 1. Information Officer: reachable at info@housesparty.net (subject "POPIA request").

6.2 What we collect

6.3 Why we use it

To create and manage your account, provide app features, process and record purchases, give support, keep the service secure, meet legal obligations, and improve the app. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising.

6.4 Who we share it with

Only operators who help run the service, under contract: our authentication and hosting providers and Yoco for payments. Some of these providers may store data outside South Africa; we only use providers that offer adequate protection as required by section 72 of POPIA.

6.5 Retention and security

We keep account data while your account is active and delete it on request (section 7). Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and financial laws require. We use encryption in transit and access controls to protect your data.

6.6 Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its processing, by emailing us. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.

6.7 Children

House Party is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian; a parent may ask us to delete a child's account at any time.

7. Account & data deletion

To delete your account and associated data, email info@housesparty.net from your account email with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm and delete your data within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep by law.

8. Complaints & disputes

Contact us first at info@housesparty.net; we reply within 2 business days and aim to resolve complaints within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission. You may also dispute a card transaction with your bank.
